In October, I invited my subscribers and Facebook followers to enter their own dog in a fictional Mapton’s Festive Dog Show for me to create a story around. Just the sort of stress-free challenge everyone should set themselves in the run up to Christmas!
The response was amazing, with people sending me photos of their dogs, lots of details on what they were like, and the classes they wanted to be entered into. I had to declare the dog show full very quickly in order to manage the task ahead.

The thing I really loved was getting photos of the entered dogs so I've compiled a 'rogues' gallery' of all the real life dogs that appeared as their fictional counterparts in MAPTON'S PAWFECT CHRISTMAS. Enjoy!
R.I.P Alys
In 2021 I held a competition for a reader to supply dog character for Mapton 4 - Mapton Wedding Daze.
The winner was Gail Burns with her dog, Alys (pronounced Alice).
Breed: Half dachshund, half chihuahua (this mix is often called a Chiweenie, but Alys prefers Dachshuahua, pronounced dahks-wah-wah)
3 Characteristics: Adorable, Demanding Diva Dog (DDD), sings (loudly!)
Since then the real little Alys has sadly passed away but singing diva, Princess Alys lives on in the Mapton books, appearing again last Christmas in Mapton's Pawfect Christmas.
